Why is your prayer not being answered?
My dear brothers and sisters. There are many people who say, “Father, we pray continuously. We pray for blessings. We pray for our family, our children, our community, our society. There are so many churches, so many places, so many people who pray together. But many of our prayers are not heard.” The Bible gives us so many reasons why our prayers are not heard. There are so many biblical reasons that we have learned about this.
We read from the Word of God, Isaiah 1:15 “When you stretch out your hands, I will hide my eyes from you; even though you make many prayers, I will not listen; your hands are full of blood.” My dear brothers and sisters, the verse doesn’t speak here about one’s own blood. It’s the blood of someone else. When we have hatred, anger, or revenge, it is difficult for God to answer our prayer. Even if He answers, the answer won’t come to us. He may hide His eyes from us. It’s not that He does it purposely, but because our prayers are ineffective. It doesn’t pierce the clouds, it doesn’t reach heaven.
My dear brothers and sisters, this is especially true in the modern world. We need to repent about the sin of abortion. If there’s anyone who supports abortion, remember that the Lord is against such a person, whether they are leaders, presidents, prime ministers, anyone who is in charge of any country, or anyone who is in charge of their own family. If we have the blood of innocent children in our own hands, it will block the blessings for that family and also for that country. We see so many world leaders promoting and encouraging the sin of abortion. That is nothing but a mass murder. They’re supporting it, knowingly or unknowingly, through some personal justifications. We are not supposed to rely on our own justifications. We must look through the eyes of God. We have no reason to take the lives of anyone—whether a small baby in the womb of a mother or an adult person outside of the womb. As long as they have life and breathe in them, we have no right to take that life away.
The Bible says it clearly, “when you stretch out your hands, I will hide my eyes from you; even though you make many prayers, I will not listen; your hands are full of blood.” God said these words to the people of Israel. God is giving the same words to us today—to every individual, to every family, to every country. God is giving the same words to the United Kingdom or the United States of America, saying, “Your hands are full of blood. Therefore, I will hide My eyes from you. My protection is taken away from you.”
My dear brothers and sisters, we have to repent, individually and collectively. In front of God, we must ask forgiveness for all the shedding of blood that we are responsible for directly or indirectly. We need to repent and ask forgiveness. We may have no involvement in this sin (abortion), but we have a responsibility for being a part of that community or country (supporting abortion) to kneel down and intercede for these people who are committing these serious violations against the Divine Law.
