Don’t wait for a problem to pray.
My dear brothers and sisters, we, human beings, have got a problem. When something goes wrong, we remember God suddenly. When everything is okay, we enjoy our lives. We make no connection with God, we have nothing to do with God. There’s a report from a magazine that says right after the terrorists attacked and destroyed the Twin Tower, there’s a sudden rise in the attendance of the Holy Masses in almost all of the Churches all throughout America. It was unexpected that such a building—a pride of America—would fall down by a terrorist attack. Everyone felt insecure about their own houses and protection.
The same thing happened when the virus started attacking. The governments, medical science, the scientists, and the rest of us were helpless in front of the small virus. The holy people also started depending on God and on giving online services. It was said more people started searching for the spiritual aspects through google and other social networks. This is a human tendency.
When there’s a big problem, we call out to God suddenly. When there are no problems, God is a burden for us. We consider God as an instrument to fulfill our desires. This is dangerous. God wants to give us a message. Jeremiah 13:16 “Give glory to the LORD your God before he brings darkness and before your feet stumble on the mountains at twilight; while you look for light, he turns it into gloom and makes it deep darkness.”
Before the darkness comes, before our feet stumble on the mountains at twilight, before gloom comes and takes control of us, let us give glory to God. Even when everything is good, we should depend on God and give Him glory. It’s not that we have to cry out to God when we have problems. But we must always be in touch with God. So that even if we don’t call out to Him when the time of trouble comes, His protection is already covering us.
Let’s make sure we don’t wait for the problems to come before we call on God. We must start calling God now, so that when the problems come God will respond. Let’s thank the Lord and promise to God that we will call Him. We will glorify Him all throughout our lives. We will make Him the center of our lives. Let’s make this promise.
